Clash of the Titans - As of September 12 the seniors have opened up a little breathing room, but the freshmen remain close to their heels. The sophomores and juniors still have time to make up ground as we reach the final two weeks of the first competition and 33 possible points are yet to be added to the tallies.
Underclassman Photos - Underclassman picture day will be Thursday, September 19th, 2024. Information about purchasing pictures will be available soon and purchases can be made on the DSP website.
Senior Parent Night- Parents of the Class of 2025 are invited to attend this informational meeting at 6 pm on Tuesday, Sep 17, 2024 in the Olympia Auditorium. If you are unable to attend, information shared at the meeting will be made available online.
Homecoming Tickets- This year’s Homecoming Dance will be Friday, October 25 at House of Blues at Disney Springs. This year’s theme will be Bohemian Nights. Students who are eligible will be able to purchase Homecoming tickets starting Monday, September 16 on teachtix.com. Tickets are $70 until September 27. Tickets increase to $80 on September 28th. Agreement forms and guest forms are available in room 402. All guest forms must be turned in by Monday, October 7. All forms will also be available on the Student Body page on Canvas, or by clicking here.
Resiliency Days- Tuesday, September 17th is the first of two Resiliency Days when we will be following an adjusted bell schedule with an extended 6th period. All OCPS students in grades 6-12 will complete a 30-minute self-paced Canvas lesson. Topics include overcoming challenges, mental wellness, and how to find support on campus. This lesson satisfies 30 minutes of the Florida Department of Education’s five hours of mandatory resiliency instruction. You will be able to access all student materials through the Canvas app in the OCPS Parent Portal, and more information is available on the Mental Health Services Parent Resources website.For more information, contact Ashley Louidor.
Testing - Students wishing to apply for Dual Enrollment should sign up to take the PERT on Monday September 23rd. The form to register can be found on the student body canvas page. The PSAT/SAT School Day will be Tuesday October 15th. All students in grades 9-11 are automatically registered to take the PSAT and all students in grade 12 are automatically registered to take the SAT. Students should be checking their email regularly around testing dates for more information.

Valencia College Dual Enrollment and PERT - Students interested in Dual Enrollment Opportunities with Valencia College for the Spring 2025 or Fall 2025 are encouraged to review this Valencia Dual Enrollment Information with more information about courses and qualifications. The first administration of the PERT is on September 23rd. Students should visit the student canvas page and use the link to sign up.
Football Concessions- The concession stand will be open and ready for business at all home football games. All concessions will be cashless and accept Google Pay, Apple Pay and credit/ debit cards.

Senior Portraits - All Senior portraits are taken through DSP, Dean Stewart Photography. Please schedule your time through DSP at dsp-photo.com/BookNow.html. To ensure your Senior portraits are included in the Yearbook and on the Jumbotron for graduation, you must book your photo session for no later than November 23, 2024.
Extra Curricular Activities- All students, parents, visitors attending an event cannot have any outside food, bags, book bags and will be asked to bring them back to their cars for storage.
Food Delivery- Food delivery of any kind is not allowed to school for students during the day. Food delivery drivers will not be allowed into the office to drop food off. To prevent any safety issues, only the parents or guardians of students are allowed to bring food to their students.
Student Safety - Once students are on campus, they are required to stay on campus unless signed out by a parent or guardian. This is to ensure that all of our Olympia students are safe and supervised at all times.
Car riders- If you plan to drop-off and/or pick-up a student at Olympia at arrival and dismissal you will need to register your vehicle and pick-up a rearview mirror hang tag. The registration will be connected to your student’s school ID number. Please complete the google form: Car Rider Hang Tag Registration. You may stop by the school and pick up your hang tag from the front office during our office hours. During the school year the rearview mirror hang tag indicates to school administration and our School Resource Officers that you are authorized to be on our campus to pick-up or drop-off your student.
Digital Parent Consent for Health Services- Again this year, in order for students to be assisted in the Clinic for non-emergency concerns, parents must complete a consent form for Health Services. This is completed through your parent account in Skyward.
OCPS cell phone use policy- As a reminder, the district cell phone use policy for students means that after the start of the school day, cell phones must be placed on silent and placed in a backpack or purse for the duration of the school day including class changes and lunch. In addition, the rule applies to watches, earbuds and other such devices. If you have any questions, please contact the school or visit www.ocps.net to view the Code of Conduct which outlines the cell phone policy.
Bus ID Cards-Students who are registered for the bus through their Parent Skyward Portal will be issued a bus ID Card from Transportation Services. Instructions for registration are available on the district website: Transportation FAQs - Orange County Public Schools. The ID cards are printed by Transportation Services and sent to the school. When these are received, they will be distributed to students during their 7th period class.
World Heart Day - We will be celebrating World Heart Day on Friday September 27th. 9th grade and 11th grade students will be going to the auditorium with their ELA classes. Students will be given a brief presentation followed by CPR practice on test dummies.
