Principal's Message

Welcome to Olympia High School!

Christy GorbergTitan families,

Senior Tailgate- The Senior Tailgate will be Thursday before the football game. Seniors may wear their togas to school so long as they are in dress code. Then they can attend the Annual Senior Toga Tailgate in the bus loop from 4:30 - 5:30pm prior to attending Senior Night.

Character Lab- At OCPS, Student Social and Emotional Well-Being is a pillar of the district-wide 2025 Strategic Plan. To support this objective, OCPS has partnered with Character Lab since 2017, a nonprofit advancing research to help kids thrive. Olympia High School and Character Lab have created innovative opportunities to bring Social Emotional Learning (SEL) insights to our community.

We work with Character Lab to learn about student well-being and to focus on developing student character strengths like gratitude, curiosity, and growth mindset. Character Lab makes research available to the public through Playbooks and Tips that are designed to support all aspects of student thriving: social, emotional, academic, and physical.

All students will have the opportunity to participate in Character Lab research activities. These online, interactive activities take no more than 30 minutes, three times per year, with a teacher available to support them. The fall round of Character Lab activities will occur on October 25.

Character Lab activities are completely voluntary and optional. Families may opt-out their children from participating at any time, as can students. If you previously opted out your child from participating in Character Lab activities, you do not have to re-submit an opt-out form for the 2021-22 school year.

To learn more about Character Lab, including information about opt-out and social-emotional learning (SEL) insights, visit ocps.net/clab

FASFA- Do you need money for college? Do you have questions about financial aid? On October 1, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, FAFSA, opened for the class of 2022. Each graduating senior must complete the form in order to qualify for any grants, scholarships and/or loans for college. There is a financial aid informational presentation as well as a step by step FAFSA presentation posted on the OCPS YouTube Channel at bit.ly/OCPSCollegeandCareer.
