SAT School Day- On Wednesday March 1st the entire junior class and select seniors that need a concordant score for graduation will be taking the SAT. Students should come prepared with their student ID and a College Board approved calculator, as calculators will not be provided. Students taking the test should make every effort to get to school by first period. Once instructions begin for section 1, students will not be able to test. Students have been emailed their testing locations. If there are any questions, or you did not receive an email please contact Mr. Chiorazzi in the media center.
End of Year Review & Exam Tutoring- Please mark your calendars for the tutoring opportunities available in April for our End of Year State Exams: 10th Grade English, Algebra, Geometry, Biology, and US History. Tutoring will be available on the following Saturdays from 8:30am-12:00pm in the Media Center. All subjects for: 4/1, 4/8, 4/15, 4/22, and 4/29. Algebra and Geometry will have an additional Saturday on May 6th.

Parent Academy College Fair - This opportunity is at Freedom HS March 4th is for ALL OCPS Juniors and Sophomores. We encourage our parents and students interested in going to college to attend. Senior Corner:
Black and White Dance: The Senior Black and White Dance will be in the Olympia Courtyard Saturday night from 7 - 10 pm. Seniors must bring the QR code they received when they purchased their ticket as well as a valid form of picture ID. Doors will close at 8 pm.
FASFA-If you still need to complete your FAFSA, you can get help from our College and Career Center, or you can attend a FAFSA Frenzy session that is hosted by Valencia. Course Requests for the 2023-2024 School Year- 11th graders going into 12th grade will continue to meet with counselors next week to review their transcripts and course selections. The course selection sheets, as well as our Curriculum Guide and presentations, are available on our school website under Student Services- 2023-2024 Course Selection Information.
Valencia College Dual Enrollment - Students interested in Dual Enrollment Opportunities with Valencia College for the Fall 2023 are encouraged to review this Valencia Dual Enrollment Information with more information about courses and qualifications. Enrollment opened Monday, February 6 and closes Monday, March 6.
Edgenuity Saturdays- 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students who are enrolled in Edgenuity courses are able to come to school on select Saturdays from 8am-12pm to complete their coursework. Staff members will be able to immediately open new units and exams as needed. Students can join in the Media Center from the parking lot entrance doors. Future dates include 2/25, 3/25, 4/1, 4/8, 4/15, 4/22, and 4/29. More dates will be available in May.
SCOIR- SCOIR is a platform used as a college application tool to offer students grades 9-12 a way to support their post-secondary, college and career planning. It is designed to assist students and parents/guardians in making informed decisions about college opportunities and career choices with the ability to research colleges, view statistical and historical data, build a resume, take a career interest inventory, and view schedules for college representatives visiting their high schools. OCPS has made SCOIR readily available
for all students. If you would like to receive a parent link to your child’s SCOIR site, find out more information regarding the tool or if you would prefer your student(s) do not use the college planning tool, please contact our College and Career Specialist, Stephanie Johnson Possell at [email protected].
