Student Safety - Once students are on campus, they are required to stay on campus unless signed out by a parent or guardian. This is to ensure that all of our Olympia students are safe and supervised at all times.

Student IDs- Students are required to display their student IDs upon entering the school campus, entering classrooms with a substitute, and for admittance to school events and other related school activities.

Cell Phones & iPads/tablets & Headphones - From first to last bell, students may not use cell phones, iPads, tablets, smartwatches, earbuds, or headphones. Per OCPS policy, all devices must be silenced and stored in a backpack or purse for the entire school day, including during class changes and lunch. If a student is found using a device, they will be required to turn it in. After the first offense, progressive discipline will follow. Attention Seniors! Believe it or not, there are only 23 days until the Senior Walk-Out. To participate in year-end activities, all seniors must complete the Senior Check-Out on April 30th or May 1st.

To clear the CCRC component, students must complete these four specific items:
  1. Senior Plan: Finalize your post-graduation path.
  2. OCPS Exit Ticket: Located on your Xello Dashboard.
  3. Florida Financial Aid Application (FFAA): Must be submitted.
  4. FAFSA Completion: Upload an image of your completion status into Xello.

Need Help? If your student is stuck on any of these steps, please have them visit the CCRC. We are here to help them cross the finish line!

Underclassmen: Building Your Future

To our Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors: it is vital to finish strong. While graduation might feel far away, your college application journey begins with the grades you earn right now.
A high GPA—both weighted and unweighted—is one of the most significant factors in college acceptances. You might think you have plenty of time, but your senior year will be here before you know it. Set yourself up for success now so you have the most options later!

Student Services: The 30-Day Academic Comeback Plan

It is officially "crunch time." We are launching The 30-Day Academic Comeback Plan to help students who may be struggling to get back on track before finals.

  • Focus: Identifying missing assignments, attending tutoring, and maximizing study habits.
  • Goal: To ensure every student finishes the semester with the credits and grades they deserve.
  • Action: Encourage your student to meet with their counselor if they need help organizing their "comeback" strategy.

Uplifting Tips for a Strong Finish

An "Academic Comeback" isn't just about grades—it's about mindset! Here are a few ways to help your student stay motivated:

  • Small Wins Matter: Encourage them to focus on completing just one task at a time. Checking off a single assignment can create the momentum they need for the next one.
  • The Power of "Yet": If they say, "I don't understand this," remind them: "You don't understand it yet."
  • Reset Your Space: Sometimes a new study spot—a library, a park, or even a different room—can provide the mental "refresh" needed to focus.
  • Fuel & Rest: A comeback is fueled by sleep and hydration. Remind them that their brain needs rest to retain all that great info!
"Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out." — Robert Collier
