Student Safety - Once students are on campus, they are required to stay on campus unless signed out by a parent or guardian. This is to ensure that all of our Olympia students are safe and supervised at all times.

Student IDs- Students are required to display their student IDs upon entering the school campus, entering classrooms with a substitute, and for admittance to school events and other related school activities.

Cell Phones & iPads/tablets & Headphones - From first to last bell, students may not use cell phones, iPads, tablets, smartwatches, earbuds, or headphones. Per OCPS policy, all devices must be silenced and stored in a backpack or purse for the entire school day, including during class changes and lunch. If a student is found using a device, they will be required to turn it in. After the first offense, progressive discipline will follow. For more information, visit www.ocps.net to view the Code of Student Conduct.

The CCRC: Your Senior's Hub for Success

To ensure a smooth transition to your post-secondary life and a successful graduation, we want every senior to complete these four essential CCRC tasks. Completing these items now is a vital part of your Senior Checkout process. Please aim to finish these as soon as possible!

1. The Plan
Finalize your post-secondary path. Whether it’s a 4-year university, state college, trade school, military, or the workforce, ensure your "Final Plan" is documented in our system.

2. FAFSA (Financial Aid)
  • Website: studentaid.gov
  • Action Required: You will need to upload a screenshot of your status for the submitted FAFSA.
  • Where to upload: Navigate to the College Planning page in Xello. Look for the section with the blue header—it is the 3rd item down on that page.
3. Florida Financial Aid ("Bright Futures")
  • Website: Florida Student Financial Aid
  • Note: This is the universal application for all state-funded grants and scholarships. Every senior should complete this to ensure they don't miss out on available state funding.
4. OCPS Exit Ticket
  • Location: Found directly on your Xello dashboard.
  • How to find it: Open Xello, - On the Student Dashboard - scroll down, and look on the right-hand side for the link titled "OCPS Exit Ticket."

Reset Your Routine for the Final Stretch

As we enter the final weeks of the school year, "senioritis" and end-of-year fatigue are real. But the finish line is in sight! A quick routine reset can help you manage stress and keep your grades where they need to be.

1. Audit & Organize
  • The "Clean Slate" Desk: Clear your physical and digital workspaces. Delete old files, toss graded papers you no longer need, and organize your remaining notes by subject. A clear space leads to a clear mind.
  • The Master List: Don't let deadlines sneak up on you. Create one "Master List" of every final project, paper, and exam left for the year. Seeing it all in one place helps you prioritize "Must-Dos" over "May-Dos."
2. Work Smarter, Not Harder
  • The Pomodoro Technique: If you're struggling to focus, try the 25/5 rule: Study for 25 minutes, then take a 5-minute break away from your screen. After four rounds, take a longer 30-minute break.
  • Active Recall: Instead of just re-reading notes, quiz yourself! Use flashcards or try to explain a concept out loud to a friend or family member. If you can teach it, you know it.
3. Wellness for the Win
  • The 10-Minute Reset: When you feel overwhelmed, step outside for 10 minutes. Sunlight and fresh air can lower cortisol levels and boost your mood instantly.
  • Sleep is a Strategy: Pulling all-nighters actually decreases your brain's ability to retain information. Aim for 7-9 hours of sleep to ensure your brain is "high-performance" for your finals.
