Titan families,
We are entering an exciting time of year at Olympia High School, and there is a great deal to celebrate. This week, many of our students are looking forward to prom, a special milestone and memorable tradition. We appreciate the support of our families in helping make this event a safe, positive, and meaningful experience for all involved. We are also excited about our upcoming spring pep rally. Schoolwide events like these are an important part of Titan culture. They bring students together, strengthen school pride, and reinforce the sense of belonging that is so important to student success. Seeing our students connected, engaged, and proud to be Titans is one of the most rewarding aspects of this work.
Alongside these celebrations, teaching and learning remain at the heart of what we do each day. Our staff continues to focus on strong instruction, thoughtful learning experiences, and supportive classrooms that challenge students while meeting their needs. This balance of academic focus and positive school culture helps ensure students are prepared not only for assessments and graduation, but for life beyond high school.
Thank you for your continued partnership, trust, and support of Olympia High School. Together, we remain committed to keeping students first and creating an environment where every Titan can grow, achieve, and lead.

Our Titan Debate Team had 9 students win a spot to compete at the CFL National Championships in Washington DC a few weeks ago.
This past weekend, our Titan Debaters competed for a spot to represent Central Florida at the NSDA National Championships in Richmond, VA, at the end of June. The top three teams in each event advance to compete in the National Speech & Debate Championships. Out of 27 schools, Olympia won ALL 3 spots! This is an unprecedented achievement.
Please congratulate these students on this amazing performance:
Jack Meyers/Shaylan Patel ( qualified for BOTH national championships) Ally Williams/Eldin Senatus
Lee Cumberbatch/Krishaan Parikh

How long have you been teaching? 21 years
-
What do you teach and have you taught anything else? Currently a Lead Teacher at Orange County Virtual School. I have taught HOPE, Anatomy & Physiology, Advanced Health Explorations, Care & Prevention at Freedom High School.
-
What schools have you been an athletic trainer at previously? Evans and Freedom High
-
What is your favorite thing about teaching? Connecting with my students and athletes
-
What made you want to come teach at Olympia? I don’t teach at Olympia, but I am joining the athletic training team after winter break. I have been around Olympia’s athletics for a couple years and thought it would be a break place to continue my athletic training career.
-
What is something fun you did over the summer? We have an annual beach trip we do with close family friends every summer. It is the best time and great memories.
|
-
How long have you been teaching? This is my 3rd year teaching at Olympia.
-
What do you teach and have you taught anything else? I teach 2 semester electives. I teach First Aid & Safety in the Fall, and Care & Prevention of Athletic Injuries in the Spring.
-
What schools have you taught at previously? As a certified and licensed Athletic Trainer, I have worked at a variety of settings. From 2015-2019 I worked at Florida State University with their Cheerleading, Dance, Golf, and Tennis teams. I served as a preceptor to mentor and teach aspiring athletic trainers with their athletic training internships. From 2019-2023 I worked at Lake Highland Preparatory School with all of their athletic teams. I then started at Olympia in the Fall of 2023 and started my first year in the classroom, teaching.
-
What is your favorite thing about teaching? My classes are very specialized, and not every student has an interest in athletic training. I usually describe the course as an introduction to medical terminology and anatomy, combined with learning how that knowledge applies to sports and the common illnesses and injuries athletes experience. Because medical terminology can be confusing, my favorite part of teaching is finding simple, and sometimes funny, ways to help students understand and remember complex terms. I enjoy making challenging material more approachable so students can build confidence as they learn.
-
What made you want to come teach at Olympia? The ability to be part of an athletic training program with our Head Athletic Trainer, Mrs. Perrotti.
-
What is something fun you did over the summer? I went with my mom on her first cruise and we had so much fun!
-
A fun fact about you! I was born in England.

-
What sport do you play? Flag Football
-
How long have you been playing this sport? 3 years
-
What’s one of your favourite memories? Hanging out with my teammates before driving to the games.
-
What is one word you would use to describe this season, and why? Growth, we had a lot of new people this year and we have grown as a team on and off the field.
-
What impact have others, like teammates or coaches, had on you this year? This year, my coaches have pushed me to become a leader and be more patient.
-
What is the most important thing you have learned from this season that you will carry forward? As a leader, you have to set a good example for the people who look up to you.
-
What do you like most about playing your sport? I like how there’s always room to grow and make new connections that will last a lifetime.
|
-
What sport do you play? Baseball
-
How long have you been playing this sport? 15 years
-
What’s one of your favourite memories? Being able to practice in the backyard with my grandpa when I was little as it allowed me to become closer with him and create a bond I still think about to this day and will for the rest of my life.
-
What is one word you would use to describe this season, and why? Bittersweet, this season, although very fun being with all my teammates, is also a little upsetting as it is my last season with this team, and although I’m ready for new things, it still feels weird having it all end.
-
What impact have others, like teammates or coaches, had on you this year? The biggest impact my team had on me this season was their encouragement on helping me get through the 5-6 weeks where I couldn’t play due to my broken thumb. They were always there for me and kept me motivated to get back on that field.
-
What is the most important thing you have learned from this season that you will carry forward? This season, although having its ups and downs, has truly shown me what it means to be a Titan and go to this school. Even when I wasn’t able to play, my teammates and classmates showed me what a good positive mindset does for a person and how being there for others can really do for a person.
-
What do you like most about playing your sport? I love the competitive nature of the sport. As baseball is a game built around failure, where you can go up and only make a play 3/10 times on offense, it is considered to be a good game. Alongside that, you can’t just be a good hitter, you also have to be good in the field and playing your position, making it not only competitive to keep your position on a team but also competitive in the game when it comes to the last few innings, and being good at both really matters.
