Olympia Titan Tribute

A NEWSLETTER FOR THE OLYMPIA SCHOOL COMMUNITY

Principal's Message

Titan families,

We are entering the final stretch of the school year, and there is a strong sense of focus across our campus. Our students are rising to expectations, staying engaged in their learning, and continuing to push themselves in the classroom and beyond.

This edition of the newsletter reflects what our students are accomplishing every day. Our Titan Theatre program recently presented The Lightning Thief, demonstrating the talent, preparation, and teamwork required to bring a production to life. Our Speech and Debate program earned top recognition at the district level, continuing to represent Olympia with excellence. These are strong examples of students performing at a high level and taking pride in their work.

That same effort is visible throughout our campus. Students are showing up, staying involved, and contributing to a positive school environment. Events such as the spring pep rally and prom spirit week highlight the energy and connection that make Olympia a strong community.

Several important milestones are approaching, especially for our seniors. Prom, Senior Awards, Grad Bash, and graduation are ahead. This is an important time for our students to stay focused, complete their work, and represent themselves and our school well.

I am proud of our students and the way they continue to represent Olympia. I am equally proud of our faculty and staff for the expectations they set and the support they provide each day.

Thank you to our families for your continued partnership in supporting our students.
With Titan Pride,

Christy Gorberg

Olympia High School’s Titan Theatre on April 2,3,4 2026, presented amazing performances of the musical THE LIGHTING THIEF. Thank you to all who attended to be part of our audience. Here are some photos of the show in rehearsal that may jog some of your memories if you were lucky enough to see the show.

Your Olympia Titan Debate team won the prestigious National Speech & Debate Association.

District Sweepstakes Award for 2026! This award is given to the top debate program in the Central Florida District based on competition wins. Please take a moment to congratulate our incredible students on the debate team. This type of success does not come by coincidence. These students work countless hours to become the best at their craft!

Quiz Bowl

Oliver Lund from Olympia was awarded a place on Team Florida, which would represent Florida if there were to be a national competition. This is the highest honor and award, as only six students from the entire competition are given a spot on Team Florida. Three students, one from each of the three first-place teams (division 1, 2, and 3) are chosen by that team or coach to be on the team; the other three are chosen by specific judges who observe all of the students throughout the competition and choose based on their performance. Oliver was one of these three chosen from the hundreds that competed. Since there is no national competition this year, he received a trophy and a $1000 scholarship.

Oliver is the first player in Olympia history to receive this honor.

Spring Pep Rally

In our spring pep rally, the last pep rally of the year, we celebrated each of our spring sports, our prom court, the Special Olympics team, and our Senior SGA Officers. The pep rally was Western themed, and everyone was decked out in Western gear! There was even a flash mob with teachers and SGA members line dancing across the gym floor!

Prom Spirit Week

This past Monday kicked off our prom spirit week with students dressing up in their best yacht club attire. Tuesday, students brought in anything but a water bottle. On Wednesday, our students splashed in their class! Freshmen wore orange, Sophomores wore green, Juniors wore blue, and Seniors wore pink!

Athlete Spotlight - Zoey Waton, Tennis

  1. What sport do you play? Tennis!
  2. How long have you been playing this sport? I have been playing for 5 years.
  3. What’s one of your favourite memories? At our last practice last season, we had a water balloon fight, and it was so much fun and a good time overall!
  4. What is one word you would use to describe this season, and why? I would describe this season as challenging because I have really had to push myself to play well and not get upset in stressful matches.
  5. What impact have others, like teammates or coaches, had on you this year? My coaches and teammates have impacted me so much this year by pushing me to succeed and continue working even when I’m struggling.
  6. What is the most important thing you have learned from this season that you will carry forward? All the moments this season where my teammates and coaches helped me in the good and bad moments, and I will carry that with me for many years to come.
  7. What do you like most about playing your sport? I love the competitiveness of the sport and the people I have gotten to meet/know through tennis.

  1. What sport do you play? I play baseball
  2. How long have you been playing this sport? I’ve been playing since I was 2, so almost 15 years
  3. What’s one of your favourite memories? Throwing 7 innings against Windermere last year.
  4. What is one word you would use to describe this season, and why? Rebuilding. We have a new coach this year, Coach Blum, and he is a great coach, but you have to learn a different philosophy. We underperformed a little this year, but it’s all about coming back next year and balling out with my brothers one last time.
  5. What impact have others, like teammates or coaches, had on you this year? I love my teammates, whether it’s on the field or off. I see them and my coaches more than I see my parents, and I love the brotherhood the team has. The team chemistry is like no other, and we are able to play off of each other.
  6. What is the most important thing you have learned from this season that you will carry forward? Play within yourself and don’t get upset when you don’t reach perfection. Bad games happen, but it's the learning to bounce back and play every game like it’s your last.
  7. What do you like most about playing your sport? The competitiveness. I love having the pressure of the game on me and everything that comes with outcompeting others.
