Course Requests for the 2023-2024 School Year- 9th grade students have already begun course selections for the 2023-2024 school year. 10th grade students had their presentation and received their course selection forms on Wednesday, January 25.  10th grade students will begin meeting with counselors next week.  11th grade students had their presentation on January 9, but will be getting their course selection forms on Wednesday, February 8.  11th graders will meet with counselors beginning February 13 to review transcripts and course selections.  Guidance Counselors meet individually with each student to submit their choices for next school year.  The course selection sheets, as well as our Curriculum Guide and presentations, are available on our school website under Student Services- 2023-2024 Course Selection Information.


Valencia College Dual Enrollment and PERT Exam Opportunity- Students interested in Dual Enrollment Opportunities with Valencia College for the Fall 2023 are encouraged to review this Valencia Dual Enrollment Information with more information about courses and qualifications.  Enrollment opens Monday, February 6 and closes Monday, March 6.  If your child needs to take the PERT exam for enrollment purposes, the last chance on campus for this school year is Monday, February 6.  Students must register for the PERT exam using this PERT Sign-Up Link by Wednesday, February 1st.  You may contact your child’s guidance counselor with any questions.


Edgenuity Saturdays- 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students who are enrolled in Edgenuity courses are able to come to school on select Saturdays from 8am-12pm to complete their coursework.  Staff members will be able to immediately open new units and exams as needed.  Students can join in the Media Center from the parking lot entrance doors.  Future dates include 2/4, 2/11,  2/18, and 2/25.  More dates will be available after spring break.


Infrastructure Trial- On Wednesday, February 1, we will be conducting a required simulated computer-based test designed to mimic the stress placed on the district and school’s network to identify any deficiencies in bandwidth and software/hardware issues. In order to accomplish this we will be adjusting the bell schedule for the day which is posted on canvas. 


OCPS Stakeholder Survey- We would like to remind all families to complete the 2023 OCPS Annual Stakeholder Family Survey. The family survey window is open until Friday, March 10, 2023. Families can access the anonymous link to complete the survey at https://surveys.panoramaed.com/ocps/family/surveys


Senior Caps and Gowns: Caps and gowns go up in price in February. Seniors are strongly encouraged to purchase their caps and gowns for graduation this week. Orders may be placed online at herfforlando.com or by calling their office at 407-647-4373. 


Senior Black and White Dance: The annual Senior Black and White Dance, which was scheduled for Friday, February 24 has been pushed back to Saturday, February 25 from 7 to 10 pm outdoors in the Olympia Courtyard. Digital Tickets are on sale now at teachtix.com/Olympia for $30 for Olympia Seniors with an unweighted cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher. 


Senior Grad Bash: This year’s Senior Grad Bash will be Friday, April 28 from 6:30-3:00 am at Universal Orlando. Tickets are $90 to pay for admission to two parks and transportation and can now be purchased on SchoolPay. https://www.schoolpay.com/pay/for/Grad-Bash-At-Universal-Studios/SbwbfBc Please note, Universal does not offer any discounts for Passholders or Employees to this event. Seniors cannot drive themselves. They must arrive on the school bus and leave with the school on our buses. They cannot arrive late, and they cannot leave early. Seniors may only purchase a ticket if they have an cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.0 or higher. If a student is ineligible to attend, they will not be issued a ticket for entry, even if they purchase one online. Tickets MUST be purchased before April 7. Tickets are non-refundable, so make sure you have the date available. If you have any questions, please contact [email protected]

SCOIR- SCOIR is a platform used as a college application tool to offer students grades 9

-12 a way to support their post-secondary,  college  and  career  planning.  It  is  designed  to  assist  students  and  parents/guardians  in making  informed  decisions  about  college  opportunities  and  career  choices  with  the  ability  to  research colleges,  view  statistical  and  historical  data,  build  a  resume,  take  a  career  interest  inventory,  and  view schedules for college representatives visiting their high schools. OCPS has made SCOIR readily available

for  all  students.
