Dual Enrollment

Dual Enrollment

Dual Enrollment allows students to pursue an advanced curriculum that earns the student both high school and college credit simultaneously, and OCPS covers the cost!  There is great potential to further engage and motivate students who take academically rigorous courses that capture their interests.   To enroll in dual enrollment academic courses, students must demonstrate a readiness to complete college-level course work and attain a qualifying grade point average.  When grade point averages are calculated, college-level dual enrollment courses are weighted the same as Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, and Advanced International Certification of Education courses.

Please remember:  It is great to take challenging college courses! The grade you receive in your college-level classes will go on both your high school and college transcripts and will impact your high school and college GPAs. You should take our courses seriously and understand that they require your time and attention. Similarly, if you are successful in our rigorous college-level courses, it will positively impact your GPA and student resume.
